Incredible Acts of Kindness and Love

A quick update on this day before I go to bed. Although I have seen and witnessed a lot of misery, pain, and suffering, I also have witnessed amazing and incredible acts of kindness and love. Thousands and thousands of young Lebanese youths have mobilised, coordinated, and even bought with their own money cleaning supplies, shovels, dust pans, brooms and whatever they can find, just to be part of the recovery efforts. Adults I met ask me if they can volunteer, parents ask me if I need anything they can donate. Today I saw a taxi driver passing by with a handheld sign that said free rides, I just want to help. 

Amid all the suffering and destruction, I see hope. I see a bright future for a country that has rallied to help. I also met French rescue teams, Korean missionaries, Americans, nuns from Africa, priests from Latin America....Feeling blessed to be part of this effort.
