End of First Trip

Tomorrow morning, I will leave Beirut back to the comforts of my home, family, and the US. Since my arrival, it has been a whirlwind of meetings, field visits, home visits and consultations. Not much time has been dedicated to processing what happened, what was seen. I want to share with you the post of a doctor (Dr. Bassam Osman, AUBMC) who worked 52 hours straight after the blast. He serves at the American University hospital in Beirut and describes best what happened when things went horribly bad. His public post can be seen here.

The road ahead is dark, almost hopeless. Winter is coming, and with it comes a whole new set of challenges. Thank you for following the events, for donating, and sending across your kind words, they have been very encouraging.

I hope through my writings you get a glimpse of what is going on and have an idea of the complexity of Lebanon and the situation.

Feel free to share with friends and family, churches, and workspaces. If you feel led to donate, please do. This can be easily done online on our website.
